Long before they broke into the pizza business in the late ‘80s, the couple behind Michelina’s Apizza & Ristorante were already learning what would eventually become their livelihood. That’s because they both were born in Italy, where the classic Neapolitan pie originated.
Since Michelina’s opened in July, their culinary talents have been on full display. Stop in for a meal in the dining room or out on the patio, or order online for takeout or delivery. Enjoy a slice of “The Famous Michelina’s” pizza, topped with extra-virgin olive oil, basil, pecorino-romano cheese, and slivers of San Marzano plum tomatoes. For a more filling meal, try the Carnivore, a pie loaded with house-made meatballs, pepperoni, bacon, sausage, and soppressata. You can also skip the meat and dairy all together when you order a vegan pie. The Pollo, for instance, features faux chicken with artichoke hearts, broccoli, and vegan mozzarella cheese.
