What are you going to discover at the Peabody Museum of Natural History today? Maybe a walk through the permanent halls for fossils, minerals, or dioramas. The second floor’s Discovery Room is a popular choice for kids to touch and explore, or you could stick to the temporary exhibits to learn about California gold or ancient Mesopotamia. Each visit to the museum can be something new and totally different with its informative and interesting exhibits.
The events calendar at the Peabody Museum of Natural History is full of camps, talks, and classes — it’s enough to pack your summer with knowledge on a variety of subjects. One of the best ways to explore the museum is with their Tour of the Day each Saturday. Yale grad students or other expert volunteers lead a fascinating in-depth look at a particular themed portion of the exhibitions.
The Peabody Museum of Natural History is closed on Mondays, but open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, and noon to 5 p.m. on Sundays. Adult tickets are $13 (children 3-18 are just $6) and your admission grants you access to the Tour of the Day and many other free extras.
