Olmo is a fresh, new conceptual restaurant in New Haven that caters to both on-the-go diners and those who want to enjoy a sit-down meal. The first floor is grab and go, with the freshly made bagels as the specialty of the house. The Shop, as they call it, is open for breakfast and lunch, and you can get pastries, soups, and salads that are made for a busy day, and prepared dinners when you know the craziness won’t end any time soon.
For a sit down experience, use the separate entrance to the second floor. The small menu has sharable entrees and small plates, and handmade pastas like gemelli with Bolognese and fusilli with wild mushrooms. You can get half or full portions of the pasta, making it a necessary addition to just about any order. The second floor also serves weekend brunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and has plenty of options for both savory or sweet breakfast eaters.
Find Olmo on Whitney Avenue, just off Trumbull Street.
