In picturesque Connecticut, there’s a perfect season for all of our favorite fruits and vegetables. This holds true for one of our summertime favorite fruits – strawberries!
Here in New Haven, there are tons of farms located near our 360 State apartments that offer a green getaway and a way for visitors to do their own strawberry picking. If you’re looking for a fun weekend activity for the whole family, check out one of these farms this Saturday or Sunday before the end of the strawberry season!
Bishop’s Orchards Farm Market and Winery, located at 1355 Boston Post Road, Guilford which is about 15 minutes from your 360 State apartment, began operating as a family farm in 1871 and has always been known as a fun attraction in the area for strawberry picking.
Bishops’ Orchards only carefully selects varieties based on their flavor and ability to cultivate well in the New England soils and weather, so you can trust that you’ll be getting a quality strawberry when you stop by this local hotspot for some strawberry picking.
Norton Brothers Fruit Farm, located at 466 Academy Road, Cheshire which is about 25 minutes from your 360 State apartment, is a family-run farm that has been in the Norton family since the mid-1700s.
Known for their various pick-your-own fruit programs throughout the year, strawberry picking is by far their most popular – and for good reason. Connecticut residents just can’t resist the fresh strawberries that come from this farm!
