Celebrating Thanksgiving Around New Haven

Thanksgiving kick starts the end of year holiday season, and there are several celebrations going on close by to New Haven that our 360 State Street residents can take part in.

If you’re looking for a once-in-a-lifetime experience, Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade held in Manhattan is one of the biggest celebrations around! The parade starts early Thanksgiving morning making its way through the streets of Manhattan, starting on the Upper West Side, and ending at Macy’s on 34th Street. The parade features floats, performances by singers, marching bands from around the country and broadways performers. You can see all the balloons that will be featured in this year’s parade here. The Rockettes are expected to make an appearance and there will be many more surprises for viewers! Manhattan may seem like a long way to travel, but it is very easy for our 360 State Street residents. Hop on the local Metro North train and the you will arrive right in the heart of NYC at Grand Central Terminal. For more information about the parade, check out the event’s website.

Don’t feel like venturing to Manhattan for a Thanksgiving Day parade? Join other Connecticut residents and celebrate the holiday with Stamford’s Thanksgiving Day Parade! Just an hour away from New Haven, this event is one of the biggest parades in the country! Floats, marching bands, helium balloons and more all join together to bring this special event to Connecticut. This year the parade will take place on Sunday November 20th. 16 Giant helium balloons will march around downtown Stamford in this year’s parade.
