Nothing screams Halloween is here and fall has arrived more than some bright orange pumpkins! Whether you are looking for some festive decorations for October, would like to do some pumpkin carving and painting or are into baking some fresh pumpkin pie, tis the season to meet all of your pumpkin needs! Here are some local farms and patches that are close by to 360 State Street where you can grab pumpkins in all shapes and sizes.
Lyman Orchards: Just twenty minutes away from 360 State Street, you can pick your own pumpkins at Lyman Orchards this fall! White, green and orange pumpkins are grown in their patches that visitors can take home to cook or decorate! They grow both sugar and carving pumpkins. In addition to the patch there is also a fall corn maze that will be on site until November. Bishop’s Orchards: Practically next to New Haven, Guliford is home to Bishop Orchard’s which offers tons of pumpkin picking for the fall season! Pumpkin picking season lasts until the end of October at this farm. They also grow many other festive goods you can pick while there including mums, corn stalks, gourds, squash, Indian corn to fulfill your festive decorating needs! There are plenty of other activities if you are looking to spend the day there such as scarecrow making, and a hay maze.
Jones Family Farm: Shelton Connecticut and Jones Family Farms is just minutes away from New Haven. Their pumpkin picking spot features much more then pumpkin picking!
