Connecticut will be hosting their annual Folk Festival this year right here in New Haven! The event will be held on Saturday September 10th from 11am until 10pm. 360 State Street residents can make their way over to Edgerton Park to participate in this fun and exciting local event.
This full day extravaganza will feature tons of live musical performances from some of Connecticut’s most talented Folk bands and performers. Some local artists that will be in attendance include Susan Werner with special guest Trina Hamlin, Ryan Montbleau, The Young Novelists, Kate Callahan, Cricket Blue, The Grebes, and Jim Trick. In addition to all of the musical entertainment there will be shopping vendors around the park as part of the event, and many food vendors from local eateries as well serving up New Haven’s favorite treats. Food vendors include Ashley’s Ice Cream, Christiano’s Pizzeria, One World Roasters and Everything About Crepes. There will also be a beer and wine garden featured as part of the event and several different fun activities for kids to participate in. This event takes a unique spin by in addition to celebrating local Folk music, focusing on sustainability and making actions in our everyday lives more earth friendly. The event will promote these efforts with a zero waste policy and also with water fill stations.
