There’s nothing better than joining friends for a relaxing brunch on the weekends. In New Haven we have no shortage of great places to try out or an early morning meal or a later afternoon breakfast. One of our favorites is Crepes Choupette on Whitney Avenue which is owned and operated by Adeal Chocourie. There you’ll find yourself with the option of sweet or savory crepes for under $10. Their coffee is delicious as well!
If you’re in the mood for a wider selection of breakfast foods, you should go to The Pantry, located on 2 Mechanic Street. Try their cinnamon roll pancake with a frosting swirl or get the California Benedict with grilled tomato, avocado, English muffin, two poached eggs, and hollandaise, with a side of home-fries and fresh fruit. All tasty, filling breakfast food that you’ll want to quickly incorporate into your weekend routine.
For something a bit more fancy, head over to Bella’s Café on 896 Whalley Ave. This stylish and cozy café serves breakfast and lunch on the weekdays, and brunch on the weekends. Memorable dishes like the Italian Style French Toast or the Shrimp and Grits are reasons why people keep coming back to his New Haven eatery.
And then there’s of course one of the best places to get your breakfast sandwiches – Zoi’s On Orange. Located on 338 1/2 Orange St, Zoi’s serves breakfast all day. You can get your breakfast sandwich for under $5 or even a full plate of breakfast deliciousness, like The Lumberjack (3 scrambled eggs with cheese, bacon, ham, sausage and potato on a sub roll) for under $10.
