With Christmas only a week away, we’re sure we have a few residents scrambling to get last minute gifts for their loved ones. Here are some tips to make life easier and keep you on budget, especially if you’re shopping online!
Keep your eye on social media, as a number of stores post special deals to their followers. Brands like to reward their loyal customers and following certain brands on social media will get you some of the most exclusive deals. Also, leave items in your online shopping cart for a day or two. Retailers want you to complete the sale, so many will email you additional coupons to encourage the completion of your purchase.
Don’t pay for shipping! Too many stores are offering free shipping right now, like Target and Ballard Designs. If the store with the lowest price isn’t offering free shipping, ask for it or go to a store that does and ask for them to match the better price. If the item you want is still too expensive, you can set up a price alert using one of a many apps available.
Certain items will be discounted on certain days leading up to Christmas. December 11-13th can be a good time to buy TVs, December 15th is the best day to buy a laptop. December 16th is the best day to buy toys on sites like Toys R Us, Target, Amazon and Walmart. And finally, December 18th is the day you want to get any other last minute items as many online retailers try to move items off the shelf and guarantee you get your items before Christmas with free shipping.
If you want to brave the malls, we suggest The Shops at Yale. This local shopping center is full of high-end retailers and within walking distance of our building!
