End of Summer Sports in New Haven

For all those New Haven sports fans, looks like we have a lot to look forward to this season! Since 1993, New Haven has partnered with sports organizations to deliver a winning experience for athletes and their families. From youth sports to the Special Olympics World Games, New Haven welcomes events of all sizes and scope to South Central Connecticut.


The Connecticut Open at the Connecticut Tennis Center at Yale in New Haven runs August 21st-August 29th. The women’s-only WTA event features five different competitions ending with the US Open National Playoffs Championship. The Connecticut Open is prominently featured domestically on ESPN2 and is also broadcast in 160 countries around the world. College Football

At Yale University, the Yale Bowl was the first stadium with seating that completely surrounded the field when it opened on Nov. 21, 1914, for the Yale-Harvard game. The world famous Bowl has been a college football landmark ever since. This football season will start off right with Yale vs Cornell taking place on Saturday, September 26th, 2015 at 1:00 PM.
