July 1st, 2015
Flashes of Blue, Red, White and more, July is here which means fireworks can be heard all around as several towns begin to celebrate Independence Day. Leading up to July 4th which falls on a weekend this year, there will be many shows around the New Haven area where you can bring your family and friends to join in on the fun of a nationwide traditional celebration! After a day filled with barbeques, swimming and hopefully lots of yummy food you can choose from many colorful and illuminating displays to wrap up the holiday weekend.
In the local New Haven area there are two great chances to see some of Connecticut’s best firework shows! Friday July 3rd West Haven will host their West Haven Savin Rock Fireworks at sundown (approximately 8:30 PM). With no weather interference in the forecast West Haven is sure to put on an excellent show to start off your holiday weekend!
Looking to bring out your patriotic side and see fireworks on Independence Day? Lucky for our residents at 360 State Street you don’t need to go far as there is a show right in New Haven! The town encourages residents to view the fireworks from Wilbur Cross High School Field, but they can be seen from any area where the Angel of Peace can be seen. Festivities start at 8 PM with live music by the United States Coast Guard band. At 9 PM the fireworks display will begin. There will be vendors’ onsite for anyone looking for a snack to enjoy the show! No rain is expected in the evening but if Mother Nature decides to be a little testy the band will perform in the school auditorium proceeded by the firework display on Sunday night.
If Friday and Saturday aren’t enough or you are looking for the best spot to view multiply fireworks shows, here you can find a complete list of all Connecticut fireworks displays that will be happening throughout July!
