April 20th, 2015
Earth day is quickly approaching and with the warm weather finally making an appearance, Mother Nature is on everyone’s mind. Earth day is a great reason to get out and enjoy the outdoors! This year, the holiday to bring awareness to environmental movements and climate change will be celebrated for its 45th year. Events to celebrate our beautiful Earth will be happening all throughout the month of April! Lucky for our residents, 360 State Street is close to the biggest New Haven local celebration.
While Earth Day has always been a day of celebration, its focus has changed throughout the years. Today most people use the day to bring awareness to global warming, find ways to conserve resources and energy, and celebrate Earth.
If you are looking to enjoy the outdoors while celebrating all our Earth has to offer, 360 State Street residents can sign up to participate in New Haven’s Rock to Rock Earth Day Ride! This event taking place April 25th, is the largest fundraising and Earth Day event in the region.
The event consists of several different mile long bike rides you can choose to participate in. The shortest being a 12 mile ride while the longest is 40! If you have young children or want to participate for part of the ride, no problem! If you check out their website, the have more information on participating for only part of the ride.
Along each path there will be plenty of stops to participate in events, listen to live music, grab some snacks and water to re charge as you continue your ride, and participate in fun challenges you can also take part in! You can visit the Rock to Rock website to register and for more information!
